Munchies Review #003- Cookie Dough Twix

Adding cookie dough to a well respected candy bar is certainly an attention grabber. It's not everyday you see a new Twix flavor in the wild, especially one to appeal to the cookie dough addict in me. In recent years, this is the second flavor I've seen added to the Twix legacy, the former of which being the bitter sweet salted caramel variation. I did rather enjoy these new twin bar companions but I do believe there's a fundamental problem with the actual name of the candy. To my surprise, I did not find any cookie dough flavor. Instead, I was met with a punch of cookies and cream flavor. If you've had the Hershey's Cookies N' Cream bar or anything similar then you'll know the flavor I'm talking about. If you're looking for a cookies and cream Twix then this bar will be up your alley as it does bring the traditional cookie crunch to the creamy delicious filling. And just as the flavor profile of the bar itself, I must add that there was a surprising saltiness that I found unwelcome. Not overbearing but noticeable, your mileage may vary. I have no choice but to wonder if the slight inclusion of the salt is to offset the expenses of the already mentioned Salted Caramel Twix variant from earlier this year. Did they overspend on salt after not producing enough salted caramel bars? Was the salt included to cut costs? And why would they cut costs? I'm glad someone asked. Word is, they are trying to recoup funds spent on a recently failed experiment that wasted millions of the companies money. A project that was supposed to be the next big thing not only for Twix but to the candy consumption market as a whole. My friends, Twix intended to create two twin chimichanga sized Twix bars, aimed to cater to a more "hardcore" candy craving audience. These ill-fated monstrosities were code-named: Twix-Chunga. The intention was to rush the bars to market, going as far as creating a commercial jingle for the candy product. 🎶 "Twix-Chunga. Twix-Chunga... Too big to dunk ya." "Twix-Chunga. Twix Chunga... Makes the boys moan cowabunga." 🎶

However, during the tasting phase, a flaw presented itself. Anytime a taste tester would pierce through the outer chocolate shell, a river of caramel filling would spill out uncontrollably. No matter how R&D approached this problem, the results were always the same. A drenched carpet, submerged counter-tops, soiled pants. Then development came to an immediate hault when an unknowing board member took a pre-release Twix-Chunga on the go. Just one bite decimated the interior of his car. Not only did the gold ooze melt onto the carpet, but by the time he made it to the dealership, the caramel filling had hardened, totaling the driver's seat, jamming the steering wheel, and even damaging the integrity of the tinted windshield. The costs of vehicle repairs exceeded the already costly Twix-Chunga budget and the experiment's plug was immediately pulled. As a result, I believe the decision to include salt in the Twix Cookie Dough artificial flavor bar was nothing more than a cost cutting measure.

HOW FLAME WAS IT?- 🔥🔥🔥/5

  1. Cookies and cream flavor.

  2. No cookie dough.

  3. Slight Saltiness.

  4. Cookie Crunch.

  5. No noticeable difference between left and right bars.
