The Story
The Goods
What if there was a pot smoking super hero? A question every group of stoners asks themselves eventually. In our story, we take this idea quite seriously. One hit changes Homer's world forever. After smoking the weed of the gods, he gains godlike abilities anytime he consumes cannabis. On their adventures, the Chill Crew encounter a seemingly endless array of zany super-villains. Such as, a super powered detective that gets a sick thrill from catching stoners in the act of "lighting up", the fabled god of beards, an alien that transmits a munchie ray, a mysterious genie trapped away in an ancient bubbler, a gluttonous interdimensional fast food phantom, and loads more. On his journey, Homer must learn to trust his friends, what it means to be a hero, and ultimately what it takes to become the god of cannabis.
What makes this different?
In an age dominated by Marvel and DC, some people claim that there is a risk of oversaturation which as a result we may soon hit a super hero fatigue. Which is a fair point. However, we hope to not only add our own spice to the super hero genre but prove that as long as the quality, innovation, and passion stays, so will the fans. We hope to give you an alternative option to help the genre grow and thrive for everyone. As well as explore our deep desire to help keep the integrity of comedy in tact. Providing a sitcom that matters.

Our writing team has a strong belief that we've found the perfect balance for an animated sitcom that can also venture into out of this world super hero adventures. Our goal is to make our comic book counterparts proud.

The variety in this series is endless. With inspirations from coming of age comedies such as Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Super Bad. To subtle character focused comedy in the vain of King of the Hill and the Simpsons. Jam Packed with over the top, unique, adventures you would see in Rick and Morty or Futurama, God Of War, HP lovecraft, and so much more in our "rebooted" take on a drug fueled mythological world.

$300- Have your short story idea written by a member of our Stonerman writing team. We will write a detailed story about ANYTHING you would like. And will give our best effort no matter the content.

$500- Guest star on the Potcast with all usual activities included. (Travel not included, Chicago area.)

$2000- Voice cameo appearance in the pilot episode with a character of your choosing (based off you, entirely made up, ect.)

$5000- Have your character become a recurring side character in the show (limit 3)

$10,000- Have your script turned into an episode. (Changes will be discussed to ensure continuity)

Who are we?
We are a team of up and coming comedians/screen writers who have completed writing, performing, and film making courses at the Second City Training Center.

We believe storytelling can truly change the world. It connects us, takes us on experiences of the imagination (even after finishing the story), and at it's best, comedy can make us feel alive.

Our hope is that our passion for comedy and storytelling shows in our writing. We will never make decisions that will jeopardize the series in a creative way. We are willing to dedicate our lives to creating the best entertainment we can. A core belief that our entire team shares is that a truly talented writer can not only make any idea work no matter how silly, but make it great. This is our stoned Fantasia.

Stonerman is a passion project for us that we've spent years developing, and believe it or not, have already sunk thousands into and will continue to do so. We will work as hard as possible to continue to bring content that can resonate with our audience on a personal level.
goals
You may notice that we have no set "Goal" listed. This is because we do not want to compromise the animation quality and at this time are not sure if we will be able to meet such an ambitious financial amount. We were already burned once with our teaser trailer, dropping over 3 grand and not getting at all what was promised. We were unsure if we should post it at all because of how blatantly wrong it is. Ignoring our script, wrong animation style and the god of beards character was not what was agreed upon. However, we at Stonerman all agreed, for now, it's better than nothing. Our vision for the show is an Americanized anime style similar to the original Teen Titans or King Of The Hill but with our own groovy style. Our primary objective is to find an animator or comic book artist who shares our vision for the project and our passion for storytelling. A creative mind that we can trust with a show that matters.

The Pilot
If we cannot find an animator with our limited resources, we hope to fund enough money to hire a professional animation company to help create what is known as a "Pilot" episode. An origin story for Stonerman that we plan to share with you for free and use to shop around to various studios in the hopes of getting our show picked up. We are confident the pilot showcases what this series is all about yet leaves a lot of world building to be done in the remainder of the season.

The Website
We will use a small amount of the money to add gradual additions to the website. Our first goal is to purchase a new microphone, so we can bring back the weekly Potcast and eventually purchase a more professional recording/editing software. We aren't afraid to take risks and are always looking to add new content!

Comic Book Series

With years of expanding the lore for the Stonerman show, naturally our stoned minds began to wonder, where should the show end? What impact will our series have in a new world of gods? Where does this universe go? So, basically by accident, we developed a detailed sequel series taking place ten years after the pilot. Focusing on an older and more mature Stonerman. Featuring brand new heroes and villains, showing the evolution of our characters!! The comic book series is crafted to be very welcoming to new comers yet add deep layers to the animated origin story as well. The comic book has a more serious tone at it's core but you'll always find rich comedic moments in every Stonerman adventure. "Ants in the Sky" is not the beginning of the sequel comic book series. It's just a fun, cannon, one-shot issue that we made with our current skeleton budget. When the funding is right, we will begin the true sequel comic book series. A second unrelated cannon one-shot script is currently in the works as well.

Hire a Staff/Pay Our Current One
One advantage to having a team of talented individuals is that we have the creative side of things covered. With writers, voice actors and onscreen talent with stage experience, all of us working for passion. None of us have made a dime off of this project. We have worked very hard to get to this point and have put a lot of our own personal money into this project and we'll continue to do so. Maybe eventually, with your help, we can have the Potcast return as a daily show instead of weekly.
We work very hard but realize we can always do more.
Besides a team of animators, we hope to hire a cheap, passionate, indie, graphic designer to help us with pictures for the Potcast as well with images for this webpage. A few other ideas we have in the pipeline- a passionate food blogger that specializes in munchies, someone who specializes in making stoner memes, and a professional editor would definitely help make things a little more smooth around here haha.

Merch
A goal of ours since the beginning of this website. A badass full fledged merch page is finally coming to fruition. As you can see we do not have much on there currently. We aim to make all of our merchandise to the same standard as our show. Unfortunately our vision is a bit bigger than our wallets currently on this one. But with your help, we can improve everyday.
